rice noodle talk
kept assuring ma it wasnt cold, it wont be cold... but today turned out to be rather chilly. tis morning when other half and i were on our way to work, fog was coming out from our mouths. very fun neh.
was crossing over to middle street when we spotted these pigeon enemies of mine having a feast. saw a lady with a plastic bag, walking towards and then into the old silver BMW. she must be the one feeding them. how dare she?!?! these were probably the pigeons that were shitting at my balcony????!!!!! she happily feeds them while i helplessly clear their shit. >:(
still on our way to work. tis new house along middle street that looks alil bit like my ah gong's house in hainan island. both have flat rooftops. obviously my ah gong's house is not tis modern and new. somewhat, my relatives, whom my ah gong is staying with, do not take pride in maintaining the house.
for lunch... other half's vietnamese seafood rice noodle. its actually bee hoon. over here, rice noodle can be bee hoon. rice noodle can also be kway teow. anyway, it looks yummy isnt it?
now is my turn. it doesnt look as appetizing but seemingly interesting. interesting for it looks like yet-to-be-fried popiahs. well, its eaten the way it is. its nothing like the popiah skin we have in singapore. tis one is transluscent, slightly stretchy. not sure if its made out of rice noodle. hahaa...everything is rice noodle. the contents are: lettuce, mint leaf, bee hoon (rice noodle they'd call it) and your choice of meat (seafood or rather prawns, chicken, or pork). and a sweet sauce with crushed peanuts to go with it. chilli that looks like chicken rice chilli sauce is added to the sweet peanut sauce if desired.
the purpose of tis pic... to show u guys that i'm like a bird...at least eat like one. seen other half's neighbour whom we nicknamed "bird man", fed slices of apple like these here, to his pet birds. i was slicing the apple when i was reminded of it. btw, tis is my dinner.... with a chicken wing as well.
