The Talented Mr CC
was at work the entire day... since 7:30 in the morning till close to 6. jann wasnt in today, in fact, on all fridays. no jann = low morale. she's my pillar of strength at work. thank God for ling, a singaporean ex-teacher doing her masters in biotechnology. u know lah, we can chit chat lor, all abt singapore, from jalan kayu's roti prata to our prime minister cum finance minister lee hsien loong. familiar and heartfelt. there was a new lady at work since tuesday. she's a twin sis of one of the photographers. not identical twin but fraternal twin. then there's tis czech girl who's working with me, is a twin too. also a fraternal twin. coincidentally, i'm also a twin. whoa, twins congregate.
straight after coming home from work, it was mad cleaning of my room and bathroom. all these for the arrival of the emperor pa and empress ma tomorrow. they'll be arriving at abt 10am. other half and i plan be out of the house by 8:30am. i'm feeling nervous. havent seen them for a year and 3 months. seem VERY LONG but didnt feel that long ago. must be bcos i've been on the phone with my ma regularly. i'm gonna call her soon... waiting for her missed call, last call to her before i see them tomorrow.
saw tis sketch by an ex-neighbour cum ex-study groupie (lets call him CC... his initials) together with a pile of papers, when i was scanning the newspaper clippings yday. he's a fantastic artist. his drawings are based on daily happenings, and he captures details & moods very well. tis one here was based in the biomed library, during the nov 2003 exam period. i gotten back my pathology essay and didnt do well. i was devastated. i felt like i was played out by my tutor who told me everything was fine (when i showed her my draft. the course coordinator said to let our tutors have a glance) and then got such a bad grade from another lecturer. i wanted very much to confront her but see no point talking to someone who doesnt take responsibility very seriously. oh, she was a researcher at the Children's Hospital at Westmead then, thus she was never in uni unless she had a tutorial with us (my group). last year, she officially joined the school of medicine, department of pathology, as a lecturer. still, i didnt hear good things abt her. hopefully in future, she'll become a better lecturer with more experience down the road.
CC with the brolly, sheltering himself from my tears. the other fella is pot. btw, i did tie my hair that way.
