train to allawah

i was awfully sleepy to log on to blogger last nite, after a long and tiring day at work plus a beer with some colleagues in the evening. it was a get-together drink to mark the last day of the graduation season. that is, we wont see each other till the next graduation in september or God knows when. i suspect the organizer was finding an excuse to drink. :P she's a czech and loves to drink. there's so much going on ard abt czech's passion for drinking and their ability to hold their liquor well. she definitely live up to the name. well, i suppose she has every reason to drink, to celebrate since she's going back to czech for a well-deserved holiday after 2.5 years here. in fact, she should be on the plane now. she's one funny girl, i'm going to miss her till we work together again.

today was an eventful day for me. attended a classmate's engagement ceremony in the morning, had lunch at pasteur (serves vietnamese beef noodles. or better known as the shop with the fierce fierce man) with other half and then accompanied CinC (my ex-flatmate) for a haircut by joyce (my hairstylist) at bondi junction in the afternoon. the ceremony was held at allawah (alamak, so far!!! gotto take train), held at the back of a church, with marquee too small to shield the sunlight from one third of the guests (dorcas & her fiance must have overlooked it). the sun was so glaring and also starting to make me feel really warm (even though the weather was cold to start with) that i wanted to strip take off my jumper. and i was squintng. heck, for the entire time, i held up the program/song sheet against the sun. and yes, i didnt sing a word along with the congregation. c'mon, whats more important than covering my SPF15 (frankly, SPF15 is not enough for outdoors) laden face? i wouldnt risk more freckles for singing a few songs. then, i was starting to feel a lil guilty for not singing, however, i still didnt want to expose my face to the UVA and UVB rays, so i carried on holding up my program sheet but stole glances at others' song sheets. at least i managed to utter a few words. dorcas, forgive me, will u? other than the sun bit, it went okay. i was particularly touched with her dad. he gave such a heartfelt speech that it made me tear. dorcas also looked fabulous in her nice curls and pink dress. and hmmm, her younger brother is pretty good looking as well (i'm making up for complaining so much. :P). haha, he's too young for me. i'm not a cradle snatcher. besides, i'm no longer available.
HA!

hi anonymous, thanks for dropping by. i'm afraid of higher SPF products breaking me out so i'm sticking with a lower SPF (maximum i go is SPF30) and re-applying it after every 2 hours. i normally use SPF30 but currently trying another brand which happen to be a SPF15 (and thats the lowest i go).
