farewell dinner
the time now is 11:38pm. other half and i have jus came back from dinner and drinks with our adventurous friend, WT. we brought him to straits kitchen for my fave hainanese chicken rice. the nasi lemak which the boss at first had trouble with the coconut milk (cos of the weather) has finally made it on to the menu. the rice (in my opinion is the essence of nasi lemak) was really good. light fragrance of coconut and pandan and it was a nice green color. hor fun was good too though it was slightly salty. the food is improving day by day and so is the crowd. i'm happy for them. the lady boss recognised me as the girl who donated the 8days and i-weekly and thanked me profusely. apparently, it was a big hit with the patrons. i'm glad the magazines served better purpose than lying ard in my room. *i cant concentrate... i keep stealing glances at the telly. wimbledon is on.... federer playing against hewitt. and its a tie breaker now!!!! ok, federer beat hewitt* so where was i? oh, the magazines. i'm thinking how i can get hold of more 8days for them. soon, the customers will get sick of the current ones so there's a need for new issues. how on earth is straits kitchen gonna keep up with it? tis was my main concern when i was deciding to give up the 8days to them the last time. well, they can always sign up for subscription which i know is not cheap. other half enquired abt it before. drinks werent alcoholic but bubble tea at kingsford's tea inn. we noticed tis drink on the menu called "random" (in english) "shui bian" (in chinese) and has no price. we thought it was meant for pple who cant decide what they want so they order that and see what will be served. i was pretty much settled on that but thought i had better double check with the wait staff. it turned out to be what we speculated but i didnt order that. afraid i might get something that will make me puke. there was never a dull moment chatting with WT. he filled us in with information we dont know and vice versa. topics ranged from politics to entertainment. we chatted and laughed and chatted and laughed, never once checked the time. as u'd expected it, we were the last customers at tea inn. the sweeping of the floor and closing of the doors were good indicators that it was time to leave. wondering when will be the next time we meet up. WT in taipei while other half and myself in sydney or singapore. we're missing him already.

can u spot the sydney opera house and the harbour bridge?

parting shot for the day.....
very often we're overwhelmed by the thick and gloomy clouds that we forget the presence of the blue sky above. in times of difficulties, lets remind ourselves not to let our vision be clouded by the gloominess. the clouds do come and they go but our vision will always stay with us.
