life, from start to finish, should not be jus a straight road.

its very tempting to take a straight road to get to our destination but what do we learn from it? life isnt jus abt getting by and getting there; and the more it isnt jus abt pursuing material possessions.

problems, obstacles, venturing into uncertainty, taking risks, being in a different environment, following your interests rather than sticking to a well-paying job, etc, be it the journey a smooth or a rocky one, the outcome a happy or sad one, are all valuable lessons to enrich us. i dont mean to go look for problems or to put oneself in hardship, but rather, not to resist them. outcome good or bad, often perceived differently from pple to pple, is important (cos its a gauge of how well u've done and how much better u can do it the next time), but it is what we've learnt during the journey that is more important. learn and enjoy the process or journey. when we leave tis world, we want to say that we've really lived it.
